We increase power capacity, improve reliability, and help protect your home with clean, code-compliant panel replacement.
At Franks Innovative Electric Inc., we help homeowners upgrade old or overloaded electrical panels so their homes stay safe, reliable, and ready for modern power needs. If your panel is outdated, full, damaged, or simply not keeping up with your daily electrical use, a panel upgrade is one of the smartest improvements you can make. A new electrical panel gives your home more capacity for today’s appliances, HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, home offices, EV chargers, hot tubs, and other high-demand loads.
Many older homes were built with smaller electrical services that were never designed for how people live today. As families add air conditioning, electric dryers, tankless water heaters, garage equipment, or electric vehicle charging, the original panel can become a bottleneck. In some cases, we find panels with no room for added circuits, outdated breakers, heat damage, corrosion, unsafe connections, or brands with known reliability issues. When that happens, replacing or upgrading the panel can improve both safety and performance.
An electrical panel upgrade typically involves removing the existing panel, installing a new panel with proper capacity, reconnecting branch circuits, installing new breakers, and bringing the system up to current code requirements as needed. We also include a surge protector as part of our current standard for panel upgrades. That extra layer of protection can help defend your electronics and appliances against voltage spikes. Every home is different, so we look at the service size, grounding and bonding, existing wiring condition, load demands, and the overall layout before recommending the right solution.
Our panel upgrade service is designed to take care of the full process, not just the installation. We explain the work clearly, provide a total price that includes permits and applicable fees, and handle the required coordination with the city and utility company. That includes obtaining the meter spot when needed, pulling permits, and scheduling the utility disconnect and reconnect. Homeowners appreciate that we manage these steps because panel upgrades usually require careful timing with the city and utility provider.
Once the contract is signed, we collect 10% upfront and begin the permit and scheduling process. Most panel upgrades are scheduled about 2 to 3 weeks out, depending on city and utility availability. On the day of installation, we open the stucco as needed, remove the old panel, install the new panel, reconnect the wiring, and install the new breakers and surge protection. After the work is complete, the city inspection takes place. Once the inspection passes, we complete the stucco repair. Paint is not included, but stucco repair is included after inspection. The remaining 90% is due after final inspection, and we accept check or credit card.
One of the biggest benefits of a panel upgrade is safety. Your panel is the heart of your electrical system. If it is outdated or overloaded, it can lead to nuisance breaker trips, flickering lights, hot breakers, burning smells, or unreliable power. In more serious cases, old equipment can become a fire risk. Upgrading the panel can help reduce these problems and give you peace of mind that your home’s electrical distribution is built to handle the load properly.
Another major benefit is added capacity. A lot of customers call us because they want to install an EV charger, add air conditioning, remodel a kitchen, build an ADU, convert a garage, or add dedicated circuits for new equipment. In many of those cases, the existing panel does not have enough amperage or breaker space. A service upgrade gives your home room to grow and can make future electrical projects much easier. If you are planning improvements now or later, it often makes sense to address the panel first.
We also focus on clean, professional workmanship. With 20 years of combined experience, our team is known for organized, high-quality electrical work. City inspectors regularly praise our clean installations, and more than one inspector has even hired us for work on their own property. That says a lot about the level of care we bring to every project. We do not cut corners. We do the job the right way, with permits, inspections, utility coordination, and close attention to code compliance.
Our customers in Riverside and across the Inland Empire choose us because we make a complicated project feel straightforward. We serve homeowners in Riverside, Corona, Norco, Eastvale, Yorba Linda, Irvine, Murrieta, Temecula, San Bernardino, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Beaumont, Yucaipa, Calimesa, Loma Linda, Colton, Grand Terrace, Fontana, Bloomington, Jurupa Valley, Montclair, Chino, and nearby areas. We specialize in larger residential electrical projects, including panel upgrades, full rewiring, EV charger installations, and dedicated circuits. We have also earned 120+ historical reviews on HomeAdvisor, reflecting the trust many homeowners have placed in our work over the years.
If you are not sure whether you need an electrical panel upgrade, there are some common warning signs to watch for. These include breakers that trip often, a panel that feels warm, buzzing sounds, rust or corrosion, double-tapped breakers, flickering lights, a panel with no open spaces, or a home that still uses older service equipment. You may also need an upgrade if your insurance company, home inspector, or solar or EV charger installer has flagged the panel. We can inspect the setup, explain what we see, and recommend the best next step based on your home and future plans.
Because your electrical panel affects the whole house, this is not a job to leave to guesswork. The design, load calculation, utility approval, permitting, grounding, bonding, breaker selection, and final inspection all matter. Our job is to make sure your upgraded panel is safe, properly installed, and ready for long-term use. We bring the specialty construction experience and hands-on expertise needed to complete this work the right way.
If your current panel is outdated, undersized, or holding back your home improvement plans, contact Franks Innovative Electric Inc. today. We are happy to answer your questions, explain the panel upgrade process, and provide a clear quote for your project. Call us at (909) 648-8696 or reach out through our website form to schedule your estimate.
We start with an on-site evaluation of your existing panel, service size, grounding, and circuit load to confirm the right upgrade for your home. Then we give you a clear total price that includes permits and fees, explain the timeline, and collect 10% once you approve the contract.
After approval, we pull the city permit, request the utility meter spot, and coordinate the disconnect and reconnect date for your panel change. Most projects are scheduled about 2 to 3 weeks out, depending on city and utility availability, and we keep you updated throughout the process.
On install day, we safely remove the old panel, install the new service panel, breakers, and whole house surge protection, then reconnect and label circuits for clean, reliable performance. We meet the city inspector, complete any required stucco repair after inspection, and collect the final 90% only after final approval.

"Honest,On time,Fair and reasonable pricing The Best contractor I've ever hired! Very experienced and knowledgeable! Hire Frank's Innovative if your electrical needs to be done right the first time!👍"
"Frank came to our rescue at last minute, after hours. He was professional and quick. We felt he went over and beyond to satisfy us."
"Frank’s Innovative Electric Incorporated did lighting for me at two separate locations. The first was a brand-new condominium that needed lighting in four rooms (living room, master bedroom and two standard bedrooms). A total of twelve retrofit lights, two retrofit ceiling fans, switches and dimmers for all rooms. I have slight obsessive compulsive disorder traits (OCD) and wanted the installation done right. Frank and Oscar did everything they could to make sure I was happy. I watch every part of the installation and was satisfied with their work. The results were so good I had them do the installation on my house for my office and loft (pictures posted). A total of ten retrofit lights, two retrofit ceiling fans, switches and dimmers for both rooms. I highly recommend Frank and Oscar, they understand people like me with my OCD traits and were patience and respectful. The prices for the both jobs were good and I would not hesitate to use their services again. The installation of the fans was done properly with careful work in subfloor of my office to place the ceiling fan bracket (there was a lip in the floor joist due to I-framing design). Oscar fashioned wood spacers so the retrofit “Saf-T-Brace” would fit properly. This took extra time and work but Oscar wanted to make sure the brace fit right. Before they started I asked Frank to come to the job site a second time so I could discuss my lighting needs (even after he gave a quote) because I was still concerned about how much light I would need. Frank and Oscar took the time and walked me through their thought process. In the end I followed their recommendations (6 lights in my office instead of 4) and I am glad I did. I highly recommend Frank’s Innovative Electric and couldn’t be more pleased. If you need an patience electrician with excellent customer service I would recommend that you give them a call."
