We find wiring problems quickly and restore dependable power to keep your home safe.
When something electrical stops working the way it should, guessing is the fastest way to waste time and money. We take a different approach at Franks Innovative Electric Inc. We troubleshoot electrical problems methodically, find the real cause, and explain what is going on in plain language. Our goal is simple: restore safe, reliable power and help you avoid bigger problems later.
Electrical issues can show up in many ways. You may have breakers that keep tripping, outlets that suddenly stop working, lights that flicker or dim, switches that feel warm, a burning smell near the panel, partial power loss, dead circuits, or wiring that seems overloaded when you run normal household appliances. In some homes, the problem is obvious. In others, the issue is hidden behind walls, inside the panel, at a connection point, or in an older section of wiring. That is where experienced troubleshooting matters.
Our team brings 20 years of combined experience working on residential electrical systems in Riverside and across the Inland Empire. We know how to trace problems back to their source instead of just treating the symptom. In many cases, what looks like a bad outlet is really a loose wire connection upstream. What seems like a faulty breaker may point to a short circuit, overloaded circuit, damaged conductor, failed device, aging panel component, or improper past electrical work. We look at the whole system so you get the right fix.
We diagnose a wide range of residential electrical problems, including:
If your home has inconsistent power, unexplained shutdowns, or a circuit that fails every time you plug something in, we can test the system, isolate the fault, and recommend the proper repair.
We start by listening. The details you share about when the problem happens, what was running at the time, and which areas are affected help point us in the right direction. From there, we inspect the related devices, wiring, breakers, and panel components. We use a step-by-step diagnostic process to narrow down the problem safely and efficiently.
Depending on the issue, troubleshooting may include checking voltage, identifying failed connections, testing breakers, examining outlets and switches, locating damaged wiring, verifying grounding and bonding, and reviewing whether the circuit is properly sized for the load. If the problem is connected to a larger issue like an outdated electrical panel, overloaded service, damaged branch wiring, or a need for dedicated circuits, we will let you know clearly.
Once we find the source of the problem, we explain the repair options in a straightforward way. We do not believe in vague answers. You will understand what failed, why it happened, and what we recommend to restore safe operation.
Electrical problems are not just inconvenient. They can also be a safety issue. Loose connections, overheated wires, failing breakers, and hidden faults can lead to equipment damage, unreliable power, and in some cases fire risk. DIY testing often misses the real cause or creates new hazards. Professional troubleshooting helps protect your home and gives you a clear path to the right repair.
Many homeowners call us after trying the simple fixes first, such as resetting a breaker or replacing a bulb, only to find the problem keeps coming back. That usually means there is a deeper cause. We focus on finding that cause so the issue is corrected properly, not temporarily covered up.
Over the years, we have seen many electrical issues caused by loose terminations, worn-out breakers, backstabbed outlets, overloaded circuits, damaged wiring, moisture intrusion, poor past workmanship, failed GFCI devices, and older panels that no longer perform reliably. In some homes, troubleshooting leads to a simple repair. In others, it reveals a larger upgrade need, especially in older properties where the electrical system was not designed for today's appliances, EV charging, home offices, or added HVAC loads.
Because we also specialize in panel upgrades, full rewiring, EV charger installations, and dedicated circuits, we can do more than identify the issue. If troubleshooting shows that your home needs a broader electrical solution, we are equipped to handle the work from start to finish.

"Frank came to our rescue at last minute, after hours. He was professional and quick. We felt he went over and beyond to satisfy us."
"Frank’s Innovative Electric Incorporated did lighting for me at two separate locations. The first was a brand-new condominium that needed lighting in four rooms (living room, master bedroom and two standard bedrooms). A total of twelve retrofit lights, two retrofit ceiling fans, switches and dimmers for all rooms. I have slight obsessive compulsive disorder traits (OCD) and wanted the installation done right. Frank and Oscar did everything they could to make sure I was happy. I watch every part of the installation and was satisfied with their work. The results were so good I had them do the installation on my house for my office and loft (pictures posted). A total of ten retrofit lights, two retrofit ceiling fans, switches and dimmers for both rooms. I highly recommend Frank and Oscar, they understand people like me with my OCD traits and were patience and respectful. The prices for the both jobs were good and I would not hesitate to use their services again. The installation of the fans was done properly with careful work in subfloor of my office to place the ceiling fan bracket (there was a lip in the floor joist due to I-framing design). Oscar fashioned wood spacers so the retrofit “Saf-T-Brace” would fit properly. This took extra time and work but Oscar wanted to make sure the brace fit right. Before they started I asked Frank to come to the job site a second time so I could discuss my lighting needs (even after he gave a quote) because I was still concerned about how much light I would need. Frank and Oscar took the time and walked me through their thought process. In the end I followed their recommendations (6 lights in my office instead of 4) and I am glad I did. I highly recommend Frank’s Innovative Electric and couldn’t be more pleased. If you need an patience electrician with excellent customer service I would recommend that you give them a call."
